The world renowned Berlin based sneaker boutique Solebox celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2012 and they marked the occasion with the release of Limited Edition PUMA States. The shoe follows on from the Solebox Clyde’s from 2006, which to this day are still regarded as one of the best PUMA collaboration ever made.

Three shoes were made available which all had a tonal coloured upper with a Snakeskin formstrip. The release came at the start of the year which was coincidentally or maybe intentionally also the Chinese Lunar Year of the Snake. Only 100 of each colourway was made and sold through Solebox exclusively. They sold all sold out on the day, leaving a lot of people disappointed they never secured a pair to this day.

As with any shoe that Solebox get their hands on, the finish and attention to details was of a high standard. The upper was decked in a thick textured Black Suede with a Snakeskin formstrip. This sat on an Off-White sole unit which complemented the shoe better than a White one would have. The lining and inner-sole was in leather that added durability and comfort.

A number of additional extras and accessories were included with each purchase. Solebox branding was applied to the lacetips and jewels, as well as on the tongue logo replacing where the PUMA signage would’ve been. It came with a gold lanyard, plus total of three different laces and leather pouch to keep them in.

PUMA have been working with various individuals and collectives over the recent years when bringing special shoes to market, but when they have worked with sneaker stores from around the world they’ve always been instant hits and one will hope this continues to happen in the near future.
