Vans’ Mountain Edition Footwear Collection Expands for Holiday 2014

Weatherized Product Offering Presents New Models and Colorways

Vans have always been well known and associated within the Skate scene, but for Autumn/Winter 2014 they’ve also expanded their innovative Mountain Edition footwear range. Using some of the same much-loved silhouettes, they’ve created a range of footwear with upgraded details. The collection from the Mountain Edition takes styles from both the Vans California and Surf categories. All the shoes are built for the winter’s elements, and therefore have been re-engineered from the ground up to ensure they withstand anything thrown their way.

Their trademark waffle sole forms the starting point, as it has been reversed and raised. It now has rubber extending out to create a lug outer-sole for maximum grip for those wet and snowy terrains. A layer which retains heat has been added beneath the inner-sole, which together with the thermal materials of the interior ensure feet will stay warm and dry throughout the season. There’s nothing worse than walking around with cold toes in the winter. Uppers treated with Scotchguard™ put the finishing touches and the upgraded details aid with repelling liquid and moisture from surface areas.

The Mountain Edition (MTE) collection will feature the staple models for those that want a Winterised version of their favourite shoes. The Era, Sk8-Hi and Old Skool all get the MTE treatment in a range of colourways ad mock-up’s. In hues and tones fitting for the Autumnal season, they make use of premium materials such as pig suede, leather and wool.

Together with these models are others, including the Mid Skool, Alrdrich, Fairhaven and Mid Slip. All of which feature details making them ideal for the winter. The entire Mountain Edition Footwear collection is now available via Vans ships and website, and select retailers.
