Native Youth SS/15

Native Youth SS/15

Born out of a passion to create socially relevant men’s clothing that highlights the uniqueness of British design with refined precision; Native Youth present their Spring/Summer 2015 collection which stays true to their key ethos. With a belief that “In youth we learn; in age we understand” their range for this season bears witness to a visual surge in confidence for the burgeoning Manchester born brand.

The brand has come a long way in their relatively short time and this campaign is their most progressive yet. Although ‘Youth’ may be in their name, throughout the collection they prove it’s far from a young man’s only clothing label. This is clearly evident as shoot 21 year old Jake Barratt and David Gant aged 72, who both wear the clothing, and wear it well.

‘In youth we learn, in age we understand’ is rung home as David gives Jake advice on perusing his modelling career. “I have no advice, other than – be yourself. You are who you are and that is your greatest asset.”

Through constant research, global travel and thorough self-critiquing Native Youth have created a range of solid Spring/Summer wardrobe essentials, whilst continuing to remain true to their design philosophy of being themselves and producing clothing that men actually want to wear.

The range features a collection in which casual wear is paramount, with a focus on relaxed lines and modern fits. Washed cotton trimmed with jersey space dye form their Bronson two piece, which is a Japanese worker inspired take on a traditional tracksuit. A basis of blue hues runs through the collection which is contrasted by accents of sage green, oxblood and rust. Key wardrobe pieces to look out for include a number of short-sleeved button-down, shorts, plus lightweight parkas and a stripped back update to the traditional cotton mac.

The Spring/Summer 2015 Native Youth collection is available at various UK independent and online at ASOS.COM & URBANOUTFITTERS.COM
