Back in the summer of 2013 Saucony and Hanon joined forces for the second time to proudly release their second Shadow Master shoe. The first edition from earlier in the same year was a instant hit and this one was equally as popular.
The Shadow Master is a custom built running shoe that combines two Saucony models. It blends together the upper from the Master Control with the sole-unit of the Shadow 5000. Nicknamed the “Midnight Runner”, it follows on from the first release, in terms of both material selection and production.
The stealth like colourway features rich black underlays and thunder blue pig suede, which is offset with perforated leather and a touch of satin blue lining. As with several of Hanon’s collaborations it’s emblazoned with their burning flame graphic on the tongue. Additional details including touches of 3M and custom graphics on the inner-sole were also included. The shoes came with 3 sets of laces, dust bag and a match pair of socks. For those who were lucky enough to be one of the first to purchase a pair, they were also given a limited matching t-shirt.
Their great selection of timeless silhouettes, production of both collaborations and general releases have firmly cemented Saucony’s position in the market and taking customers away from the recognised bigger brands. With what they have coming in the future, it looks like things will only get bigger and better for them.
