Mastermind JAPAN, known for their luxury Contemporary Street wear and dark style collaborates with adidas Original’s Gazelle silhouette.
The Gazelles were of the five adidas Original silhouettes chosen by Mastermind JAPAN. 47 years later the all-round training shoe is still a force to be reckoned with and remains an iconic trainer for the brand. This collection has been considered the ‘capsule collection’ being Mastermind Japans last project in 2013.
The trainer consists of premium suede uppers, with the heel tab embossed with Mastermind Japans infamous Skull & Crossbones motif. Leather perforation is detailed all over the trainer. The signature Three Stripes also in premium leather, contrasting with the suede upper is well suited to Mastermind Japan’s signature black aesthetic. The black and additional white Metal Bone Lace Lock is a physical feature representing character as well as a sense of play. All wrapped up and neatly presented in an adidas Originals black box instead of blue.
This design is minimal yet effective, it doesn’t over extend itself but rather encapsulates Mastermind JAPAN’s eye for detail and quality.
