Hugo Boss SS15

Hugo Boss Spring/Summer 15

With surreally beautiful space-age backgrounds and an undeniable futuristic narrative, you would be easily forgiven for mistaking the new Hugo Boss SS15 campaign for the set of a Joseph Kosinski sci-fi movie (think Tron: Legacy and Oblivion).

Behind this magnificent art-installation-like campaign, is the Taiwan born fashion designer Jason Wu, who has been the House art director since 2014.

Taking care of every single aesthetic aspect of the collection, Wu put together an impressive team to make his prodigious vision a reality. With the invaluable help of Belgian photographer Pierre Debusschere and stylist Tom Van Dorpe, the ready to wear Hugo Boss SS15 collection is now one of the most successful and groundbreaking creations the German creative powerhouse has had so far.

Known for his strongly masculine design orientation, Hugo Boss seems to have had a drastic change in direction since the arrival of his newly appointed art director, who is successfully re-defining the perception of what feminine and masculine aesthetics are in the fashion industry, opting for a more androgynous-like approach on the entire design process;

I love the idea of being able to refer to the origins of menswear with its precise cuts and classic tailoring. Many details from the BOSS Menswear can be wonderfully translated into feminine looks,” said Wu in a previous interview.

Featuring clean lines and strong tailoring, these elegant SS15 creations are as timeless as they are ageless. Wu has made sure to effectively blur the line between smart and casual wear with his sophisticated use of architectural silhouettes combined with the relaxed and uncomplicated design of the garments themselves.

“My tenure at BOSS is about changing people’s perceptions and expanding the horizon of what the brand can be,” said the talented designer at the backstage of his SS15 collection.

From the lightweight slim fitted jackets to the monochromatic macro pleated skirts and crisp structured shirts, made mostly on heavenly soft cottons and silks and displayed on a neutral palette of blocked monochromes and pastels, this collection has everything to make anyone look and feel effortlessly stylish and sophisticated.

As a bonus, the collection offers a wide selection of matching accessories ranging from belts to footwear and handbags for men and women in luxurious fine leather to complement any outfit.

No matter how much you choose to mix, layer or assemble each one of these outfits, with a collection like this no matter how much you play, you just cant get it wrong. So go on, free your imagination!
