adidas Kopenhagen

adidas Kopenhagen

SERIES: ADIDAS CITY SERIES CITY SERIES (EUROPEAN CITY SERIES)

MADE IN: WEST GERMANY

The adidas Kopenhagen was one of the first models in the European City Series and has been highly sought after since its original release in the late 1970’s. The original colourway was yellow with black stripes, heel tab, dimpled tongue, and a gum sole. The original model was produced in West Germany and was predominantly made out of leather.

Over the years there have been many remakes of the Kopenhagen silhouette, varying from suede to leather and even a mix of both, all of which have been reissued in various colourways.

In November 2009 Norse Projects reissued the Kopenhagen for the Consortium City Series to represent their city. This particular remake featured a navy blue leather upper, suede tongue, stripes, and toe guard; with a perforated yellow leather heel tab.

The original colourway was reissued in September 2011 as a part of the adidas Archive Pack which also includes a grey and blue suede version, as well as a blue and red suede pair. These were made available for purchase at adidas’s No.6 store in London.

adidas has definitely been on top of their game recently as their output of vintage models has proven to be both very successful and popular. The adidas Kopenhagen is a great example of the beautiful designs that adidas has stored away in their archives.
