ASICS x Solebox – Gel Lyte III “Blue Carpenter Bee”

An unreleased Solebox x ASICS collaboration that was first seen in 2012 is finally getting the proper launch it deserves. The eye-catching color scheme gains its inspiration from a species of blue bees that are native to Southeast Asia.

Named for an Australian insect of the same name, the sneakers pay homage to their influence with a metallic black full nubuck upper. The tongue is an electric blue made from microsuede, and the lateral side of the shoes are underlaid with a grid in homage to the carpenter bee’s wings.

The Solebox x ASICS’ “Blue Carpenter Bee” collaboration is schedule to drop on April 30 exclusively online.
