This version of the classic Tobacco was issued in 2008, and available as an exclusive release in the UK through Size? stores. The premium cream leather was a welcome variation to the black suede option also available, as it allowed the wearer to brave the great British Summer without fear of destroying the suede in an inevitable puddle calamity so many of us have all suffered.
The usual Tobacco identity is again present on the tongue, reminiscent of its French predecessor, with a faux gum rubber sole to compliment the colourway. Although a more see through version of this would have been more preferable, like the one used on the Mita Sneakers collab.
The saddle/tan colouring on the stripes and accents is a good contrast to the base colour, and makes the branding stand out more than the subtle muted OG colouring.
With the release being limited, it’s a version of the Tobacco you don’t see that often, and a worthy pickup to look out for on certain auction sites and vintage retailers.
