CYCLE STYLE
With almost 200 portraits of London cyclists and their bikes, this book sets out to capture a particular aspect of urban style. Cycling culture in our capital has been steadily growing in popularity for years, with it comes a unique and varied style culture. The theme holding all of these people together are their love for their bikes and for expression through their clothing; impeccably tailored men on Savile Row starkly contrast tattooed street riders and their fixie’s. The collection takes a look at how expression is met both by how we choose to live our life, in this case in the saddle, and what we wear.
Inside is a collection of full page photographs detailing the style shown by the nation’s riders, and also a collection of fantastic bikes. Horst A. Friedrichs has beautifully captured an intriguing subject and compiled it into a sharp and colourful collection. With an introduction and useful index indicating each individual’s ride this book is great for those interested in urban cycling culture and also fashion.
